I am excited to introduce you to Sarah and Alex! So thrilled for their wedding at Howard County Conservancy this weekend!! Learn more about this sweet couple below!
How did the two of you meet?
We met at school (Radford University) - they had a fountain, it was a tradition to foam this fountain, Alex was foaming the fountain by filling it with dish soap. He asked our mutual friend Beccie to come along with him. Beccie then asked if she could bring along another friend and that was me. After an hour of foaming the fountain, we sat talking, which turned in to us talking until 4 am. About a year and a half later, and many more nights spent with Alex walking me back to my dorm and us talking, we realized we were each other’s person.
Alex, what do you love about Sarah?
How she is always positive regardless of what we’re facing, she always finds the light at the end of the tunnel. She is super smart and driven specially to help others. She helps me to be the best person I could be.
Sarah, what do you love about Alex?
I love how Alex is so supportive of all my hopes, dreams and plans for the future. He is so caring and makes me happy even when I am sad. It was pretty awesome how he worked so hard to meet his dreams to become a helicopter pilot. I love how he follows his dreams!
What is something special about the two of you?
Something special about the two of us, I would have to say that we have supported each other and always willing for an adventure. First, Alex leaving for the army, him doing training in Georgia and Virginia, then leaving for Germany was the start of the next adventure. We were able to travel all over Europe while he was there. Then a move to Texas round one was completed at Fort Hood, TX and we had a blast there and met so many friends. Next, to Alabama, for Alex to start flight school and meanwhile I started nurse practitioner school. Lastly, we have completed another across the county move to El Paso, TX. We are always up for an adventure and support each other through each up and down in life.
What do you like to do as a couple in your free time?
We love exploring the outdoors, national parks, and museums whenever we can. We loved all the traveling we did while Alex was stationed in Germany, and absolutely loved experiencing the city nightlife of Austin while we were in central Texas. We love taking our dog on walks and he loved the beach when we were in Alabama. Here in El Paso we have just been taking in the scenery and enjoying the mountains.
What are a few of your favorite things?
We love our puppy dog, Archie! We love taking him on walks and going on adventures. We loved going to Destin in Florida and Navarre Beach. In Austin, Eureka and 24-hour diner are our favorite places to eat! In El Paso, we have not explored too many places yet but I am sure we will find some good restaurants!
What does your dream wedding look like?
Our dream wedding looks like having all our family and friends together in one place to celebrate with us! Also dancing and a fun weekend with everyone!
Why did you choose to work with Social Graces?
We choose to work with Social Graces because Katie is AWESOME. She listens and creates a beautiful design with all the information she gathers. She knows many vendors which made it super easy to decide things with planning from across the country. She lives locally and was super helpful with everything along the way!
