I am so excited to be a part of Dani and Dillon's big day! Dani and I grew up in the dance studio together and went to college together, believe me this day has been a long time coming! It is so special to know other couples that have been together for such a long period of time like Ryan and I - there is nothing like small town high school love, if I do say so myself :) I look forward to a day filled with love and a close-knit group of family and friends to celebrate. Learn a little bit more about Dani and Dillon below!
How did the two of you meet? We met in the good old first grade at Valley Elementary School. I had Ms. Cudlipp, Dillon had Ms. Morin and we had the same math teacher, Ms. Long. We were friends throughout Elementary and Middle school. But there was always something different between us, something always "there". We could talk for hours on AIM and we were both so protective of eachother. In the fifth grade, Dillon got me a necklace for Christmas. We dated in the eighth grade and then again in 10th and the rest is history.
Dani, what do you love about Dillon?
There are many different things I love about Dillon. But my absolute favorite thing about Dillon is how he can make me laugh. It is his sense of humor, his facial expressions, his timing to call out relatable movie quotes at any time and just how we can tell what the other is thinking with one look. He always knows what to do to make me laugh. I have always loved that about him. I don't go a day without him making me smile and I wouldn't want to go another day without it.
Dillon, what do you love about Dani?
I don't even know where to start because there are so many things about her that I love. The first thing that comes to mind is her heart. She is constantly doing things for others including myself and doesn't ask for much in return (only affirmation here and there haha). We have known each other since the 2nd grade so she has seen me at my worst and yet has never left my side throughout the years. I love the fact that she isn't scared to tell me something I need to hear when others won’t. I love that we can have as much fun at home in our sweatpants together as we do going out with friends. She sat through freezing cold and wet football games to show her support and didn't complain. She loves to run long distances, which to me just seems a little crazy but it shows her dedication and work ethic.
What is something special about the two of you?
There isn't much that is special about us. We are pretty boring. But I think the greatest thing about our relationship is our loyalty to each other. Dillon and I have been there for each other our whole lives. Throughout the bullies, awkward phases, hard times with friends and parents, school work and college. Even before we started dated in high school, we knew we could count on each other.
What do you like to do as a couple in your free time?
After being together for 9 years, we have made some great memories. But in our free time in-between work, we love taking our dog, Leyla on walks. We also cook dinner together almost every night. It is a great time to spend some quality time together and talk about our day. Nothing is better than a good all-nighter Netflix binge with popcorn and wine! I am obsessed with crafting while watching football on Saturdays (Alabama) and Sundays (Ravens) with Dillon. We live very close to family members and friends, so we spend a lot of time with our loved ones either at wineries, playing pool or just hanging out at home.
What are a few of your favorite things?
If anyone knows us, they know we are both pretty obsessed with our dog. We seriously treat her like our baby. I took Dillon to La Paz in Downtown Frederick for his first time a couple of years ago and he is now addicted. We eat there a couple times a month. We do love our wine nights with our extra-large glasses of wine. We both love exercising but disagree on the approach. I love taking the morning and going on a run outside. While Dillon would rather drive to the gym and pick things up.
What does your dream wedding look like?
Our dream wedding has all of our closest friends and family there. We want to be surrounded by our loved ones, having a good time. Even though our wedding is bonding us together forever, we want to also treat this wedding as a "thank you" party to them for supporting and loving us through the years. We want to sure everyone is having a good time with fun music and an open bar.
Why did you chose to work with Social Graces?
I have known Katie since middle school, when I started at Dee's. We were in the same Ballet class. I have looked up to Katie ever since. I got to enjoy her organization skills and planning abilities while we were on the Towson University Pom Squad together. Ever since, her social media posts on her crafting and lifestyle have been amazing to watch. So when she started her own event organization, I knew we had to go with her. I wanted to make sure April 22 is stress free and I wouldn't trust anyone else with this responsibility.
