Alli and I used to work together at Phi Mu National Headquarters and being a part of her and Alex’s big day was so perfect - not only because they are one of the most fun couples ever, but also because I was in attendance on their “first date”. Alli may not have known it on the first date, but the rest of us knew it was something special.
Their ceremony was held outdoors on the peninsula at Big Spring Farm in Lexington, VA. It was a chilly and windy day, but the ceremony was still absolutely stunning. Alli and Alex have their faith as the center of their relationship and it was so apparent during their ceremony – they got married in front of a wooden cross, the officiant was Alex’s childhood pastor who flew in from Alabama, friends sung hymns and they took communion together as a newly married couple.
Alli’s color selection and flowers were absolutely perfect for a November wedding – the reds were gorgeous! There was so much joy in this day - including a celebration happy dance from Alli and Alex after they walked the aisle as a married couple (so adorable)!
The reception was held inside the barn at Big Spring and featured red and gold, hand-perfected details and LOTS of dancing. One of my favorite parts of the wedding was the dinner selection. Since Alli and Alex’s wedding was held the week prior to Thanksgiving they themed their dinner around this event. Thanksgiving is one of their favorite holidays and when again in their life will they ever be able to celebrate with all of their friends and family in one place? It was so special (and absolutely delicious) – yum!
It was an amazing day with spectacular vendors and I wish a life of happiness for Alli and Alex!
